GPS–Geocaching on the School Grounds and Beyond

September3

Geocaching is a fun, educational activity–a virtual treasure hunt to get students motivated and moving to solve challenges with technology.  Use latitude and longitude tco-ordinates and GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites to find a hidden cache, usually a plastic container, sign the log book.  You can learn about history, geography or the local area.  Temporary caches can be hidden in the school yard.  They can be designed around content based learning outcomes…story sequencing, science experiments or math problems.  Learn more at Geocaching.com  checking out the resources and browse for geocaches near you.
