Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

5 c. peeled and sliced fresh peaches
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Topping
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3 Tbsp butter or margarine
3 Tbsp milk
1 egg
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. chopped pecans

Combine peaches and lemon juice in a large bowl, set aside.  In a medium saucepand add sugar and cornstarch; mix and store in water.  Cok, stirring, until thickened, add peaches and cinnamon an cook one minute more.  Place peach mixture into a shallow 2 quart casserole dish.  In a small mixing bowl stir together flour, sugar and baking powder.  Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.  Add milk and egg, stirring just until moistened.  Drop spoonfuls of topping over peaches.  Combine brown sugar and chopped pecans, sprinkle over topping.  Bake at 400 degrees, 20 to 25 minutes.
